Also present are accounts concerning the Lesseps' Brick Yard, Monplaisir Plantation, and Henry Clay.

Abstract
Passport issued by Sullivan, Governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, to John Colbert, a free man of color. John Colbert along his wife, Teenah, and their three children, citizens of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, were to be allowed to travel freely to New Orleans. On the reverse side, Governor William C.C. Claiborne wrote and signed the following note: "The within Passport has been exhibi[ted] to the undersigned, and is entitled to full credit."

Abstract
Two French newspapers, L'Autographe (November 1864) and La Presse Illustree (October 1874), with articles concerning Victor Séjour. L'Autographe is a tabloid format newspaper, (numbered 193-200), reproducing excerpts of writings and signatures of famous persons associated with France, including government officials, writers, composers, and others. A brief phrase and autograph of Victor Séjour--described as "un dramaturge sous lequel se cache un véritable auteur dramatique"--is printed on page 195. Other persons represented include Alexandre Dumas Fils, Henri IV of France, Hector Berlioz, and Antoine Étex. The first page of La Presse Illustree includes an illustration of Séjour and his full page obituary. In French.
