Abstract
Dispute between the notary public Narcisse Broutin and the architect Barthelemy Lafon over an alleged breach of contract. Broutin represented Feringue, Jr., who had contracted Lafon to build a house near Bayou St. John on Jan. 13, 1806. File contains petition, judgement and copy of a protest. Petition written by A.R. Ellery. John Lynd, justice of the peace, wrote the copy of Broutin's original protest. Antoine Fromentin and Neil McKinnon were witnesses to the original protest. Judgement by default on April 1, 1807 and confirmed April 4, 1807.

Abstract
Text, circa 1930s. History and description of Ducros Plantation in Terrebonne Parish. The families include the Ducros, Butler, Winder, Grundy, Woods, Pugh and Polmer families. The home was completed in 1859 and is of Colonial type architecture. The architect, Evens, was from Thibodaux Louisiana and the home was built with slave labor. It is influenced by Andrew Jackson's home near Nashville, Tennessee. A complete description of the interior and exterior materials and architecture is included as well.
