The grounds are the property of the National Guard and the National Guard Polo Club was organized in 1922. Descriptions of the grounds, times of play and history of Polo in New Orleans are also discussed.

Abstract
Text, date unknown, circa 1930s. Jesuit High School. Boys. 4533 S. Carrollton Avenue. Description and conditions in which boys are admitted to the Jesuit High School in New Orleans. The school was founded in 1847 by the Fathers of the Society of Jesus. The article also mentions the sports and music programs of the school and describes its accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools. In the 1934-35 school year there were 820 students enrolled under President Father Bassich.

Abstract
Text, 1875-1880, typed circa 1930s. Indian Activites and Legends. The article claims the Indians were fairly numerous about fifty years ago, when the amusements documented were popular. The article describes the dancing, music and food popular around bonfires at night; followed by a type of ball game in the mornings in which men and women played eachother. The final paragraphs discuss a Native American who was married "like white man."

Text, July 4, 1897. Louisiana's Own Game: Creole Gentlemen trying to Revive the Ancient Native Sport of Raquette. History of the Louisianan Creole sport of "raquette" in New Orleans in 1897. The sport is thought to have begun with the Choctaw Indians and passed on to the African Americans, and then to the Creoles, whereas the Anglo Saxon people of New Orleans played baseball. The rules of raquette are included as well. Published in the Sunday States.
