Abstract
B/W photo, 1930s. Greenwood Plantation built circa 1830 in West Feliciana Parish near St. Francisville. Built by William Ruffin Barrow. Greenwood Plantation was an example of Greek Revival architecture with 30 foot Doric Columns, molded entablature and classic roof. Destroyed by fire in August of 1960 and rebuilt in 1984.

Abstract
B/W photo, 1930s. Greenwood Plantation built circa 1842 in West Feliciana Parish near St. Francisville, Louisiana. An example of Greek Revival architecture. Destroyed by a lightning fire in August of 1960. Written on photo: "Southern Belles and proud gentlemen wept when this lovely home, Greenwood, perished in an August (1960) fire. Long a landmark in West Feliciana Parish in southern Louisiana - since 1842 - Greenwood was a symbol of gracious southern living. The home was built on 8,000 acres of cotton land from a Spanish land grant. Thirty-foot Doric columns rose to a molded entablature and classic roof, which were reflected in a pond in front. National Geographic magazine called Greenwood "the finest example of Greek Revival architecture in Louisiana."
