Abstract
Text, July 27, 1864. A Refreshing Episode in the War. Confederate and Federal troops exchanged in Baton Rouge and beginning an impromptu party with both sides. More than 150 women were sent with baskets of food for the soldiers of which many recognized each other from before the start of the Civil War. Salutes were given to Colonel Landrum of the Federal Army and Colonel Scott of the Rebel Army.
