Text, May 22, 1851. Divorce Case. Divorce case involving a man and wife married in New Orleans, in which the wife is allegedly also married in Ohio to another man. The man applying for divorce is named Henry Michell, of Orleans Parish with his estranged wife Sarah Ann Blakesby. Blakesby is allegedly intermarried in the state of Ohio with Peter Barr. She is now guilty of bigamy.

Abstract
Text, June 24, 1928. New Orleans Marriage Guide Caused Duels. ""How to Get a Rich Wife" forced publisher to flee town for fear of being attacked. His office burned by mob. Quaint volume gave initials of wealthy firls; names of eligible men. Absurdities were well intentioned." The article is a summation of newspaper articles surrounding S. S. Hall's book entitled "Bliss of Marriage, or How to Get a Rich Wife," which was published on Camp Street in New Orleans in 1856. The author was forced to leave on fear of being lynched. It caused three duels and the publishers office was burned down. Excerpts from the book are provided including Hall's advice on courtship and marraige. Published in the Item Tribune.
