Text, April 17, 1938. Floating Chapel Celebrates its Anniversary in the Bayous by Harnett T. Kane. Description of a floating, motor-powered chapel from New Orleans created to visit surrounding bayou communities. The ship/chapel was christened "Mary Star of the Sea" and preformed masses, communions and rosaries and is lead by the Reverend Jules S. Toups. The chapel travels to Bayou St. John, Pierre Port, Bayou Piegeon, and Bayou Godel.
