Text, September 5, 1879. Miles Walker starts for Kansas with Another Mans Mule. He is Captured at Hickman, Kentucky. Account from Sheriff J.W. Bates, who returned on the steamboat John Wilson following the capture and subsequent escape of Miles Walker who stole a mule and left for the "promised land" (Kansas).

Text, March 8, 1924. Feudists Barricade Family in Blazing House; 9 Year Old Burned to Death. Description of a feud resulting in one family setting fire to another family's house and burning to death a nine-year-old in Red River Parish. The two families involved were the Riley and Mangram families, the girl killed was Mary Mangram. Information gathered by Sheriff W.H. Elliott of Red River Parish as reported by the press.
