Abstract
Business records of Jean Baptiste Meullion, a free man of color, including bills of sale for his accounts with Debuys and Laune, Arnaud Carraby, and S. S. (Simon?) Bernard. Includes a slave bill of sale for the transfer of Mary, age 33, from Theophilus Elmer. Also present is a letter and map from M. Pellechet to T. F. Mezieula (J. B. Meullion?) confirming the accuracy of his land survey. Documents are in French except for slave bill of sale.

In this indenture, Alphonse Lorquet (described as a young free man of color and orphan of 15 years of age, born in Saint Domingue) is sponsored by his benefactress, Magdelaine Camfrancq (described as a free girl of color), as an apprentice to Jean Sagot to learn to be a shoemaker. In French.

Receipt for payment to Rose, a free woman of color, for living one month as washerwoman in the Hospital for General Coffees' Brigade. Robert L. Cobb, a surgeon in the 2nd Regiment of Tennessee Militia, certifies that Rose is entitled to be paid 10 dollars for the month, and the claim is attested to by David C. Ker, a hospital surgeon for the U.S. Army. Endorsed by Major General Andrew Jackson.
