Text, March 8, 1924. Feudists Barricade Family in Blazing House; 9 Year Old Burned to Death. Description of a feud resulting in one family setting fire to another family's house and burning to death a nine-year-old in Red River Parish. The two families involved were the Riley and Mangram families, the girl killed was Mary Mangram. Information gathered by Sheriff W.H. Elliott of Red River Parish as reported by the press.

Text, March 5, 1870. The Black River Tragedy. Published in the Ouachita Telegraph. Murder of Colonel Charles Jones and son during shooting through feud with Liddell family. Jones' other son, Cuthbert, is thought to have drowned in the river upon his escape. The attack was a response to the previous killing of General Liddell.
