Abstract
Full title from title block: 'Map of South Baton Rouge, laid out by Robert A. Hart. Surveyed by R Swart. 1905.' Laid out in 43 squares of numbered lots. Bounded on the north by Squares 1-4 on the north part of Washington Street; to the south by Monroe Street; to the east by Missouri Street; and to the west by the corporation line. Some discoloration and damage from age and folding. Later number written in felt-tipped pen on bottom left of map: 'Key 36-$-9.' Scale: 1:2400.

Abstract
Antoine Doussan, Baton Rouge, to Auguste Doussan in Grasse. The Doussans were an émigré French family who came to Louisiana in the wake of Napoleon's downfall. The patriarch, Antoine, a medical doctor and former soldier under Napoleon, managed the family's cotton and sugar plantation in West Baton Rouge Parish as well as French-resident members' financial affairs in Louisiana. Auguste Doussan was the younger brother of Antoine Doussan. He practiced medicine in Grasse, France, and married Louise Perrin, who was a relative of the Allain family of Louisiana.Antoine discusses what their nephew should study and what careers to pursue.

Abstract
A Civil War veteran and local public official in West Baton Rouge Parish, H.M. (Henri Mortimer) Favrot was the son of Augustine Eulalie Duplantier and Louis Favrot. A cousin of Louise Perrin Doussan, H.M. Favrot managed her interests in Louisiana beginning in the 1860s. Letter contains financial statements for Louise Doussan's assets managed by H.M. Farvrot.

Plan of the city of Baton Rouge drawn from the land of Mr. E. Elias Beauregard by Arsène Lacarriere Latour, in November 1806. The plan shows the layout of the area of the city known as Beauregard Town. This is a certified copy made in 1809 of the original plan drawn in 1806: "Certifico la copia conforma al original."--Signed by cartographer.

Abstract
Field notes from survey of land in East Baton Rouge Parish belonging to Messrs. [Philip] Hickey and Duncan, made for them and Richard Duvall by John Dutrer. The surveyor gives the type and location of trees as well as the quality of the land. He notes that the last line or boundary described is "40 arps [arpents] below the fishouse and is the line between the Beauregard town and the old town of Baton Rouge, including the Gilbert Leonard tract."
