Funeral services for W. Branks Stewart, artist and illustrator, will be conducted at 9 a. m. Tuesday from the House of Bultman, St. Charles and Louisiana. Interment will be in Garden of Memories cemetery.
Mr. Stewart, who died early Monday of a heart attack at his home, 110 Bordeaux, Metairie, was head of., the department of medical illustration at Louisiana State university and vice-president of t h e New Orleans Art League.
A native of Airdrie, Scotland, Mr. Stewart studied art at Glasgow. His portraits and landscapes have been exhibited in the Art League's annual exhibit at Del-gado Museum and in 1941 he presented a one-man show at the museum. The LSU professor, however, gained national recognition for his work in the field of medical illustration.
Survivors include his widow; a daughter, Janie Stewart; a mother, who lives in Canada, two brothers and two sisters.
