After the business of saving lives, the number one problem on every doctor's list probably is the relief of pain.It was with this purpose of relieving chronic pain that Charity Hospital opened its pain clinic a year ago. Since then 500 sufferers who otherwise would have had only fleeting relief by constant use of drugs, have shed their pains for as long as three or four months at a time.
Dr. John Adriani, director of the department of anesthesia at the hospital and head of the clinic, today explained that only certain types of pain can be relieved at the clinic.
