Appointment of Dr. Donald Duncan as professor of anatomy at Louisiana State university-school of medicine was announced Wednesday by Dr. B. I. Burns, dean of the school, who also announced 10 other new appointments to the staff and the promotion of nine staff members. Dr. Duncan holds an A. B. degree from Carleton college and an M. A. and Ph. D. from the University of Minnesota. He was associate professor of anatomy at the University of Texas from 1932 to 1941 and professor from 1941 to 1942.
Dr. William Lane Williams, formerly instructor in anatomy at Yale university school of medicine, has been appointed assistant professor in anatomy. Miss Cecilia Perrodin has been appointed assistant professor in the department of nursing education. She was formerly connected with the staff in a part-time capacity.
Other appointments are: Dr. Clarence Edward Klapper, who has been associated with Hobart college for the past five years, instructor in anatomy; Dr. Lionel Robert Ryklan, teaching assistant and research associate at University of California from 1940-1943, instructor in biochemistry; department of pathology and bacteriology: Dr. Gretchen Vitter Squires, instructor; Dr. Rudolph Marshall, Jr., assistant; Dr. Pliny Arunah Allen, assistant; department of physiology: Dr. Frederick Palmer Ferguson, instructor; Mrs. Alice I. Gromillion, assistant; department of surgery: Dr. James Samuel Newton, instructor.
