With Dr. C. S. Boucher, chancellor of the University of Nebraska, as speaker, commencement exercises for the 84 members of the graduating class of the Louisiana State university school of medicine will be held at the Municipal Auditorium here at 8 p. m. on February 18.
The class is one of the first classes in medicine in the country to be graduated and complete its jwork under the accelerated program, said Dr. B. I. Burns, dean of the L. S. U. school of medicine. It ordinarily would have been graduated in June but began its final year?s work on June 16 last year in order to comply with the request of the Association of American Medical Colleges that its preparation for medical military service be hastened.
Dr. Burns asserted that practically all of the members of the class who are eligible for commission with the armed forces have applied for or have received such commission and, after a year's internship, automatically will enter service in the army or Navy Medical Corps.
