The director of Charity hospital said Tuesday an ambulance was en route to assist an injured former Army major when police cancelled the request.
Dr. Leo J. Kerne, in a statement explaining the hospital's participating in the case, said also that three physicians had examined the man when he was brought to Charity in a police emergency unit.
