Classes at Louisiana State university school of medicine will be dismissed Monday in mourning for Dr._ Walton R. Akenhead, professor of medicine and head of the department-of medicine.
Dr. Akenhead, 49, died at Charity hospital Saturday' afternoon.
His body will lie in state at the L. A. Muhleisen & Son funeral home, 2929 Metairie rd., beginning at 9 a. m. Monday. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home at 2:30 p. m. Monday, with interment in the Garden of Memories.
Active pallbearers will be C. C. Adams, Kenneth Caron, Dr. Harry Das comb, Dr. Walter Hollis, Dr. Louis Levy III, Dr.j Jorge Martinez, Dr. Don L. Peterson, and Dr. John Sea-bury.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Leo J. Kerne, director of Charity hospital; Dr. WUP. Frye, dean of LSU school of medicine, Dr. Edgar Hull, as-
sociate dean, C. A. Cox, Earl Robertson, and all department heads of the LSU school of medicine.
