A clinic on the problems and opportunities in connection with marriage will be sponsored by the department of marriage and home of the Greater New Orleans Federation of Churches Tuesday at 7:30 p. m. at The Church House, 330 St. Charles.
The 1960 Pre^Marriage Clinic, as it will be known) will include a discussion^ of the physiological aspects of married life, led by Dr. Sirnon^p. Ward, physician; the socio-psychological aspects of marriage and home by Dr. T. A. Watters, psychiatrist.
The meeting will be concluded with a discussion led by Dr. Myron C. Madden, chaplain at Southern Baptist hospital, on the general theme of spiritual aspects of the home.
Established several years ago by the federation, the clinic will be under the general chairmanship of the Rev. J. Dudley Downing, associate pastor of the St. Charles Avenue Baptist church and a former associate of Dr. Madden. s
The^clinic is held for the benefit of young couples planning marriage in the near future ai::! as an aid to the pastor in the local congregation who would like for his engaged couples to have discussions with doctors, psychologists and spiritual leaders, but who does not have enough such couples to make it possible for clinics to be held in the respective church.
Following each address at the free, public, non-denominational session, a question and answer period will be offered for couples or individuals to discuss particular problems being considered.
