The Southeastern Surgical I Congress will open its 28th annual meeting Monday at the
oosevelt hotel.
The congress will consist mainly of clinical discussions on variety of surgical topics. More than 60 doctors are scheduled to present papers at the conference.
General themes for panel discussions are "Acute Intestinal Obstruction," Monday; ''Forum on Progress in Surgery," Tuesday; and "Operative Complications," Wednesday.
Dr. Benjamin T. Beasley, Atlanta, Ga., will preside at most of the sessions. He is secretary-director general of the congress.
New Orleans physicians slated to speak include Dr. Alton Ochsner, Dr. John B. Blalock, Dr. Frank McPherson, Dr. Dennis M. Rosenberg, Dr. Henry D. Olinde, Dr. Howard Mahorner, Dr. Walter F. Becker, Dr. Leslie Guidry, Dr. Isidore Conn, and Dr. Oscar Creech.
Also scheduled to speak are Dr. Charles S. Knight and Dr. Walter W. McCook, Shreveport; Dr. J. Harvey Johnston Jr., Dr. William O. Barnett and Dr. Curtis Artz, Jackson, Miss.; and Dr. Willard Parsons, Vicksburg, Miss.
