The 1959 Heart Fund has gone well over the total last year and contributions are still coming in, Lawrence A. Merrigan, New Orleans chairman, said Friday.
Speaking at a windup meeting of Heart Sunday workers at the council chambers of City Hall, Merrigan said the incomplete total for the metropolitan area was $81,186. A total of $74,000 was raised last year in the three-parish, area.
Qf the $81,186 contributed to date in this area, $58,506 was donated on Heart Sunday.
During the meeting, 20 regional chairmen, including the late Mrs. Provosty A.
