A quiet, soft-spoken champion has arisen to lead the fight for good government in Jefferson Parish.
"I didn't want the job," he said. "I don't like publicity.
"But it has to be done. Somebody has to do it. If they believe that I'm the one, well . . * I guess I'm it."
Thus did gr. 0. R. Depp, physician, husband and father of six, take tover the job of insuring good government for Jefferson Parish.

DR. DEPP, 44, of 18 Nassau Dr., Metairie, is the chairman of the newly formed Citizens' Defense Committee in Jefferson. He was chosen by representatives of civic groups and ministers who met this week to seek a soluti'on to what they termed "the breakdown of law enforcement" in the parish.
Using his words like a scalpel, Dr. Depp cut quickly to tha problem—and how his organization will meet it
"We feel there is only one solution to the breakdown of law enforcement in Jefferson Parish," he said, "and that is the recall of Sheriff Coci. We are making plans now to draft a petition asking a recall election. We expect to have the necessary names by November."
