The ninth annual scientific assembly of the Louisiana Academy of General Practice opens in Shreveport Friday.
Opening day of the three-day meeting will include talks by Dr. Edgar Hull, New Orleans, on cardiac emergencies; by Dr. Chaun-cey M. Leake, Galveston, Tex., on drug allergy, and by Dr. Willis J. 'Potts, Chicago, on surgical emergencies in the newborn.
Convention activities get under way with registration at 8 a. m. Friday in the Washington-Youree hotel. Presiding at the opening assembly will be Dr. Janie Mc-Swain Topp, Lake Charles, academy president.
Saturday's sessions call for addresses by Dr. William P. Hur-der, Pineville, on the control of epilepsy; by Dr. G. Lombard Kelly, Augusta, Ga., on libido and potentia encountered in general practice (male), and by Dr. Potts on common surgical problems in infancy and childhood.
