The medical schools of Louisiana State university and Tulane university, and the Dental school of Loyola university enjoyed one of their finest years in 1954, adding their own particular contributions to the structure of progress in New Orleans and Louisiana.
The LSU school announced important discoveries made in research projects on heart disease, arteriosclerosis, cancer, and neu-ropschiatry.
And the biggest single annexation to the university's physical plant in recent years was accomplished with the November dedication of the new $3,500,000 addition to the school of medicine. The new eight-story, T-shaped wing jutting out to Tulane ave., from the original structure adds 100,000 feet of floor space, nearly double that of the old building.
