Funeral services were held Sunday for Dr. Walter Edmund Levy, Jr., 31, of 931 Fern. He died Saturday after a brief illness.
Rabbi Julian B. Feibelman of Temple Sinai officiated at services at the family home, 7320 St. Charles. Burial was in Metairie Cemetery. Tharp-Sontheimer-Tharp, Inc., was in charge.
Dr. Levy was an instructor in the department of obstetrics and gynecology at LSU medical school, a Junior obstetrician at Touro Infirmary, consulting obstetrician at Flint-Goodridge Hospital and was on the courtesy staff of Sara Mayo Hospital.
He was the son of Dr. and Mrs, Walter E. Levy. Dr. Levy, Sr., is senior obstetrician at Touro and clinical professor of obstetrics and gynecology at LSU medical school.
Dr. Levy, Jr., was born in New Orleans and educated at Newman School and Tulane University. He interned at Touro and served his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Charity, Hospital. He served for two years in the Navy, then did post-graduate work at Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, Md., before entering private practice here.
Surviving are his parents, his wife, the former Miss Shirley Kartus; a son, Walter E. Levy III, and a daughter, Kay Levy; a brother, Dr. Richard Levy; his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Moise Levy, Jr., and maternal grand-(mother, Mrs. Max Schwabacher, all of New Orleans.

Rosenthal, Jr., Dr, Zachary Wohl, Dr. Sol B. Stern, Jr., Ted Bloch, Thomas Godchaux, Charles Schwartz, Jr., Norman Kaufman, Jr., and N. C. Cornwall.
