Doctors should "speak out for the American free enterprise system" in order to sell America to the Americans, a public relations spokesman for the American Medical Association said Monday night at the annual installation banquet of the Orelans Parish Medical Society in the Roosevelt.
Leo E. Brown, assistant to the general manager of the AMA, said in his talk on "Medical Public Relations" that the medical profession must do its share to win the fight for free enterprise in this country.
"Doctors in this country have in recent years of their duties and obligations to their community as well as their responsibilities to their individual patients," Brown said.
He also urged the medical men to discuss frankly with patients
their fees and services "in order to eliminate the many misunderstandings which have developed in the past." A sound public relations program as well as prompt, courteous, and efficient service should be' maintained by doctors at all times, Brown said. PHOTO CAPTION READS] INSTALLED.
