Municipalities One, Two, and Three were responsible for managing the emancipation of enslaved persons following the dissolution of the Police Jury for the Left (East) Bank of Orleans Parish in 1846.

Description
Chiefly records kept by the First Municipality Council for those enslaved persons whose emancipation petitions were approved by the council. Loose pages of reports of the other two municipalities are also included. The record typically indicates the name of the slaveholder (usually the petitioner), name of the enslaved person (with age, color, and alias in some cases), and date of council approval.</br></br>Only records pertaining to the emancipation of enslaved persons were scanned from the volume for use in this project.
