"G. BOYCE" marked underneath in a rectangle stamped relief. "N.YORK" stamped in a curve with a zig-zag border relief. "HAZARD & BLAIR" stamped incuse. "WRB" for William Ruffin Barrow engraved in center top of handle.
Condition
Overall good condition. One side of handle broken off from basket.

Description
Silver basket in overall oval shape with an oval shaped-stepped base and a die-rolled border of shells, cornucopia, flowers, and fruit on bottom of the base that is repeated at the joint of the base of the body, around the upper rim of basket, and in two pieces on the handle. Body of basket is solid with alternating lobes and spear all the way around. Handle consists of two of same die-rolled borders that join where the handle joins the body and come apart at the handle's top where there is a scalloped silver disc applied with the engraved initials "WRB".

Part of a set with tea pot (CIS-2012-0255.1), sugar bowl (CIS-2012-0255.2), wine coasters (CIS-2012-0255.3 and CIS-2012-1188), and candlesticks (CIS-2012-1189) that was originally ordered by William Ruffin Barrow of Greenwood Plantation in St. Francisville, Louisiana.
