Three large bottom drawer fronts are mahogany veneered. Drawers inside top drawer are tiger maple veneered.
Condition
Overall fair condition. Pieces of applied carving missing. Marble top is cracked.

Description
Marble-top dresser with mahogany veneered looking glass and frame with carved and pierced mahogany foliate and floral motifs. Top drawer opens and front folds down to produce a writing surface covered with black leather and stamped and gilded decoration around edge and thin border about an inch from edge. Behind writing surface is storage space with two small drawers stacked on either end and three thin pigeon holes toward center of either set of drawers. Central space near back is left open with decorative column-like brackets behind which is some metal which may have been added later. Fronts of drawers and bracket decoration veneered with tiger maple. Sides of top drawer next to writing surface are four short, turned balusters supported by frame of drawer side. Second drawer from top has a divider, All four drawers have applied mahogany carving with a central cabochon/boss with a curved foliate motif with molding to either side producing field mimicking a panel, and on the extremes of each drawer are matching curled foliate design. On front corners of case are applied mahogany carving scrolls with leaves underneath. Mostly solid base with applied central cabochon and mirrored foliate design on either side.
