Description
Mahogany-veneered armoire having two sides with rails at the top and the bottom. The piece is bolted to the cornice and base through these rails. The back is paneled in two panels and the interior is divided by a central row of two drawers. The drawer case consists of a top, bottom, and two sides that are joined together. The interior has drawer guides. The drawers are half blind dovetailed in the front and full dovetailed in the back. The base is dadoed into the sides and nailed. Each drawer has its original brass lock half mortised into the front and they have two original turned knobs. The base is constructed with four square block feet and a frame of a front and a back rail with side rails mortised and tenoned into the front and back. Bracket feet are applied to the front and side. The doors rest on original brass butt hinges and are fully paneled. Original brass lock in door. Secondary wood unable to be determined.
