Description
Marble top pier table. The skirt is composed of four rails dovetailed together with a wooden top screwed and glue blocked to the skirt. The marble rests on top of this wooden top. Two strips of wood are glued to the interior of the skirt's side rails. These rails are joined to the front rails. The lower portion of the frame is composed of two cutout sides with a mirrored back. The back has two rails joined to the vertical styles. The side supports are composed of C-scrolls adjoining the skirt and the back. The base of these side supports have C-scrolls applied to the back and base. The back is screwed to the base. The base is a cyma curve along the top. It is a solid board. The two front bracket feet are mitered and glue blocked to the base. The back feet are only bracketed on the visible sides and not the back. The entire piece is mahogany veneered. A cock bead is added to the base of the skirt where it joins the sides. The bottom C-scrolls have added applied molding. There is bookmatched veneer on the base. A font panel is missing at the bottom of the skirt.
