Overall fair condition. Chipped veneer in many places on the front side board of the bed. The piece of veneer on top of the front side rail and a small section towards the proper right side of the bed are very fragile. The scrolled arm of the headboard/footboard on the proper left side has become removed from the base of the piece. Possibly the original upholstery underneath the daybed. Moderate water damage on the front and side lower board. The proper right foot is missing a corner block that was torn away from the piece. The nails have eaten through the textile and possibly have been further pulled away from the bottom of the piece where they were nailed in. The upholstery stuffing consists of a dried pine needle or straw material with springs.

Description
Daybed with mahogany veneer on exterior. The bed is constructed in a late classical design, with simple lines and scrolled headboard and footboard. The apron is of a simple design and the bed rests on two columnar feet with cyma recta curved feet. The back feet of the piece are a simple shape, meant to reflect the silhouette of the front feet. The bed is currently fitted with a bed bolster and a box spring upholstered in blue and white bed ticking. What is possibly the original upholstery is apparent on the bottom. A material of blue and white bed ticking has come loose from its nails to reveal the lateral braces of the piece as well as the springs. Pine needles and straw residue under the piece. The footboards and headboards may be the only areas of solid mahogany.
