Marks/Inscription/Labels
"2" marked twice in graphite on rear surfaces of drawer in different hands. Additional cabinetmaker registration marks on interior surfaces of drawer adjacent to bottom on rear of a small loop also in graphite (marks not repeated on interior sides or fronts).
Accessories/Hardware
Cast brass hook screwed into cabinet divider with companion eye on bracket screwed into proper right door surface (both likely replaced). Three hooks - two brass, one iron - for hanging screwed into proper left surface of divider - likely added later (holes and shadowes of eight other hooks visible on back and opposite drawer side). Brass clothing rod bent at ends and screwed into case top not original. Original locks to door and drawers.
Condition
Overall fair condition. Varnished interior surfaces not original. Plate holding hook to secure door has been moved. Light scratches throughtout. Escutcheon for key hole on door front missing; brass slot to hold tongue of door lock also missing. Bottom of case with extensive water damage; case bottom of pine (not varnished), likely replaced. Entire bottom of case and cornice possibly replaced. Urns at corners missing.

Description
Two-door armoire or cabinet on compressed ball feet. Flattened pediment of scrolling open, fretwork surmounted by central urn. Interior entirely finished and varnished, fitted on proper left side with hooks and narrow brass clothing rod. On proper right, with one short drawer with turned pull and three fixed shelves. Cornice of flame-grain mahogany veneer, rests atop side and rear boards, secured by large iron rod through pine glue block attached to side of cornice and glue block attached to case side. No evidence of urn finials having been in cornice. Cornice of pine boards tenoned faced with cavetto molding mitred at corners. Scrolling fretwork pediment of single depth of wood, while molding of pediment made of two pieces of wood, glued. Paneled doors of solid mahogany (virtually no bevel on interior surfaces) with no interior molding; stiles and rails of frame have soft, quarter-round finish. Doors swing on five-knuckle butt hinges that screw into case side and door side. Case of white pine rails and stiles; rear rails and stiles grooved to receive tulip poplar back boards which were screwed into bottom board (later hardware). Central pine stile same width as rear stiles. Plinth of pine with inverted cavetto molding over skirt; skirt faced with veneer. Skirt of dovetailed or tenon construction all around. Shelf runners of walnut nailed into side of case and central pine divider support shelves of pine faced with walnut. Case rests on drawer supports. Drawer case of pine; rails and stiles faced with walnut. Central divider of case notched at top to accommodate fit of cornice. Two-drawer section sits on walnut drawer support on proper left, suspended from shelf above on proper right side. Drawers set into case, fronts flush with stiles. Drawer case of white pine faced with walnut, all dovetailed together. Support under drawer case is shorter than the other shelf supports. Case drawer fronts of pine faced on upper edge with walnut and very thin (1/32" thick) veneer across front. Dovetailed drawer sides and back of tulip poplar, also all varnished on interior. Drawer bottoms slide into rabbeted sides and front, nailed through to back panel. Drawer back very slightly lower than sides and front. Drawer lock with with double tongue. Vertical strip molding with simple flattened profile attached to door front; profile matches that of stile profile.
