Traces of graphite on top of drawer front.
Accessories/Hardware
Brass casters. Iron nails. Iron screws with slotted heads not filed.
Condition
Overall good condition. Joints of veneer dry, and only minor losses to veneer of pedestal and skirt.

Description
Drum-top side table with single drawer on triangular tapered pedestal with conforming platform base ending in underturned scroll feet with small volutes on casters. Flame and burl mahogany veneer used throughout. Base of molding around pedestal is a lightwood inlay, unidentified. Drawer in center of case is dovetailed: front built up blocks of pine (or cypress) and planed with radial front and veneered to conform to top. Sides, back and bottom possibly also cypress. Bottom beveled on sides and rear, slid into rabbeted drawer sides and front, nailed through drawer back. Drawer slides on bottoms of side panels. Table case made of two semi-circular blocks of pine with walnut rear section joined (tenon or dowel) but concealed by veneer and vertical, rectangular walnut glue blocks. Unidentified hardwood drawer stop glued to underside of hemispherical pine top. Case bottom of pine screwed through side planks. Case secured to large square pine plank with canted sides. Top of square iron rod continuous through pedestal fits through hole bored into case bottom. End of rod visible through base. Base of pine. Construction concealed by veneered surfaces, including radius of volute.
