Description
Elliptical marble top center table with veneered, openwork central shaft made of four columns whose grain is bookmatched and shaped inner profiles create a void of a Gothic pointed arch. These columns tenon into a square plank with canted corners supported on S-scroll legs with volute feet. Legs dovetail into corners of base with a large single pin that has been splined. Large S-scrolls echo legs and visually support the central shaft. A 1 3/8" wide tulip plank supports marble top, which is set over it into grooves, and screwed through. Skirt is made up of three layers of wood cut into circular sections and stacked 3 1/8" thick. Skirt has been veneered with flame-grain mahogany and has applied molding strip below. The underside of the plank supporting the top has been stained red, identical to the piano stool CIS-2013-1053. Foot is an unidentified hardwood, also stained red on underside.
