Description
Cherry semi-tall chest with fluted quarter columns and a complex molded top. Drawer configuration features two side-by-side over four graduated drawers. Single board cherry top is surrounded by a half-round and cyma mold above, with a concave mold below. Both are attached with brads or nails into the case sides. Interior drawer runners are nailed into the side of the case, and tenoned into the drawer blade. Blades are half-blind dovetailed into the case sides and capped. Mitred ogee bracket feet with spurred responds are blocked from the back and nailed into the bottom of the case. Drawers comprised of cherry fronts dovetailed to tulip poplar sides with matching beveled bottoms. Bottom or upper drawers are in two pieces and reinforced with mostly original tulip poplar glue blocks. Cherry cock-beading applied to drawer edges and secured with brads.
