Trestle form table of solid oak in Elizabethan or Tudor-inspired style with long top containing two drawers supported by two legs made of single pieces of transverse-cut oak with applied carved decorative brackets secured with dowels and glue. Legs are perpendicular to top and rest on plinths supported by large C-scrolls that end in under-turned feet. Plinths are connected by turned and carved medial stretcher with carved baluster and jar-like turnings framing a central bead. Stretcher tapers and ends in inverted balusters that dowel into plinths. Upper section of leg doweled to case rail at three points. Case dovetailed at rear; side rails have dovetail into upper rail. Drawers slide on rails on three sides. Drawer is dovetailed at rear; sawed on diagonals to create dovetails, and sawed ends left to create stops at ends of side rails. Top made of three long boards covered with leather writing surface.
