Condition
Overall good condition. Cracqueleur surface throughout, loss to proper right side of splat with delaminated remnants. Proper right front stile has black twill twine wrapped around leg below swell of turning.

Description
Vasiform splat-back chair with double spiral-turned rear stiles that are squared in section beginning at and below the seat, ending in a raked profile. Shield-shaped spring-upholstered seat with serpentine front rail, which is upholstered over the rails and tenoned into upper sections of legs. Rails are solid rosewood. Front legs consist of a series of spool, ring and baluster turnings that end in a variation of a poker foot, connected by simple turned medial and side stretchers. Laminated rosewood splat is joined to cyma-curved stay rail and crest rail; crest rail has a central openwork heart and carved four-petaled rosette. Upholstery is silk and cotton blend pink damask; pink gimp covers upholstery tacks. Springs and webbing visible through brown cloth cover under seat.
