Description
Pair of armchairs. Two rear stiles with S-shaped rear legs are connected by a curved rear rail, the base rail of the seat and a crest rail. Two front legs extend to the base of the seat and are connected to side rails. The side rails are also connected to the back stiles. The arm support is composed of two major pieces, one piece from the end of the foot to the top of the arm rest and the other being an arm rest rail which is secured into that piece and the rear stile. The front rail is molded and secured into the two front legs. Decoration continues between the legs and the rails. The side rails have a piece of molded rosewood which is attached to continue the decoration from the feet. The crest rail has an additional piece of carved wood attached to it which forms the majority of the carving. The carving depicts two roses with a few other flowers flanking a ribbon and scroll. These crest rails differ from the rest of the set. Original four casters.
