Text, January 4, 1855. Steamboat Disasters. Description of three steamboats sinking on the Mississippi River within days of eachother in 1854-1855. The three steamboats were the H.D. Bacon, the Dresdon, and the James Robb, all large boats, all bound from St. Louis to New Orleans. Damages and lost cargo are accounted for in each steamboat and in some cases cargo prices are estimated as well.
