Description
This Act is from the Acts passed at the Second Session of the Third Legislature of the Territory of Orleans. It set up the territory up for statehood. It is signed by Magloire Guichard the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Jean Noel Destrehan the President of the Legislative Council, and William C.C.Claiborne the Governor of the Territory of Orleans (first Governor of the Territory of Orleans & first Governor of the State of Louisiana. It was approved on April 24th, 1811. It was hand written by the legislative recorder (name unknown).
